Friday the 18th February, Umthombo Wesizwe's friends and family met at Lion's Head for a Full moon picnic - first outing for 2011! What a bonding evening we all had!
Some facilitators from 2009 and 2010 attended the outing; together with our friends from Facebook. We started hiking up Lion's Head just after 18h00 and reached the peak on time for the Fullmoon which started appearing at 19h28. I gave a 15 minutes speech about the plans and direction of Umthombo Wesizwe for the next 5 years and the relationships we are building. As Umthombo's focus for 2011 is PR; fundraising and marketing, we have identified this year as a "consolidation year" in getting ready and fully equiped for the implementation of our 5 year strategic plan.
After some fun, drinks, snacks, conversations, picture taking moments and laughter while the Full moon was beautiful and gloomy in our view, we went down and reached the trail-start by 21h20. The outing was superb!
